Season 6 - episode 16 - What They Died For



"What They Died For" is the sixteenth episode in Season 6 of Lost and the 119th produced hour of the series as a whole. 
One of the candidates replaces  Jacob as the Island's protector and the Man In Black's ultimate plan is revealed. 
Summary - Locke carries on with his plan while Jack's group searches for Desmond.
My overall rating - 4 stars (out of 5)
On the beach and in the jungle (Jack's group) 
        basically what happens is that Jack and the rest of the group go looking for Desmond. Hurley stumbles upon  "kid Jacob" who takes Jacobs ashes from him. Hurley chases after him and leads him to a grown up Jacob. Hurley gets the group and they go talk to Jacob. By the end of the night, Jack becomes the new Jacob.
At The Barracks (Ben, Richard, and Miles)
        Basically what happens is that Ben, Richard, and Miles head to the barracks to get some c-4 to blow up the Ajira plane. They pass Alex's grave where Richard berried her. Once they get to Ben's house they go to his "secret room" to get the c-4. They hear someone in the kitchen. Its Zoe. Widmore is back. Ben isnt happy about it. News of Locke coming interrupts them and Zoe and Widmore hid in Ben's secret room while Ben and Richard go to face Locke as Miles runs away. Locke appears to kill Richard and asks Ben if he knew where Widmore was and Ben replies, "hes hiding in my closet" Locke and Ben talk to Widmore and Locke kills Zoe. Widmore tells them that he brought Desmond to the island because he was a measure of last resort. Ben shoots Widmore dead. They go to the well to find Desmond only to find that someone helped him get out. Locke tells Ben that he is going to destroy the island.
Flash Sideways - Main Events
  • Desmond beats Ben violently - helped Ben flash
  • Locke agrees to let Jack fix him 
  • Desmond busts Kate and Sayid out of jail - Desmond takes Kate in his car and Hurley takes Sayid
